Fire Safety Workshop

SVPM’S College of Pharmacy, Malegaon (Bk), successfully organized a Fire Safety Training Workshop on 01 October 2026 to create awareness and provide practical training to the support staff and faculty members for effectively handling any fire emergency within the institute premises. The workshop was organized under the guidance of the Maintenance Department with the objective of ensuring that all concerned staff members are familiar with the newly installed Fire Safety System and are capable of responding promptly and safely during an emergency.

During the training session, participants were given detailed information regarding the operation and functioning of the newly installed fire safety system, including the appropriate procedure to be followed during a fire emergency. Special emphasis was given to early identification of fire hazards, raising the alarm, emergency response procedures, evacuation protocols and coordination during an emergency situation.

A practical demonstration was also conducted on the correct use and operation of fire extinguishers. Participants were trained to identify the appropriate type of extinguisher for different classes of fire and were demonstrated the proper method of operating an extinguisher safely. The participants were also made familiar with the location and accessibility of fire safety equipment installed at various important points of the institute.

The workshop included live demonstrations and hands-on training, enabling the participants to understand the practical aspects of fire emergency management. The importance of remaining calm, alert and following the prescribed safety procedures during an emergency was also emphasized.

Faculty members, laboratory technicians, peons and other support staff actively participated in the training programme. The workshop helped enhance the confidence and preparedness of the institute staff to respond effectively to any unforeseen fire emergency.

The programme concluded with a commitment from the participants to maintain vigilance and strictly follow fire safety practices to ensure a safe and secure academic environment for students, faculty and staff.
