Library Assistance Cell
Objectives :
- To make available learning resources including books, periodicals, e-resources & maintain learning environment in library that helps to staff & students to meet predetermined educational objectives. Every effort from LAC is appreciated to offer all comfort to the library user.
- To maintain full transparency by displaying timings, staff, rules & regulations, number of books, journals, & other resources & various services offered by library at prominent place. Also affix suggestion box & evolve mechanism to act on these suggestions.
- To constitute library committee by involving the students, teaching staff, and Librarian & Library staff & conduct regular meetings.
- To assist to Librarian in developing & designing library/digital library, ambience, adequate space for various activities, timings and usage, library automation, online access, networking etc.
- Ensure that all activities are documented & preserved such as purchase bills of books, journals, e-journals, software’s & other materials (Book-case, computers, tables, chairs etc) along with entry book of number of users (issue book/reading space), guest visitor’s book, feedback reports from faculty, students & visitors, Book recommendation form, Accession register etc.
- Evolve the mechanism of feedback including number of feedback items, levels, space for descriptive feedback/suggestion, consistency check, frequency of collection, who & when to collect feedback, what metrics are calculated & what is inferred from the metrics, how are the comments are used, feedback analysis and reward/corrective measures taken, if any.
- To record the meetings such as issues discussed & actions taken in this regard. Keep these documents to be verified internally as well as externally during various inspections.
